2010 Community Award Gala
The 4th Annual Gala, sponsored by First Place Bank, T.C.I. and the Trumbull
County YMCA, will be held January 31, 2010, 4:00pm at McMenamy's Banquet Center
325 Youngstown Warren Rd., Niles. All ads for our Commemorative Program Booklet
must be turned in by Monday, January 11. Tickets can be purchased at $25.00 per
person, $45.00 per couple, and $15.00 for youth under the age of 15.

On their Inaugural season, The Disciples Semi-Professional Football Team
advanced to the semi-final round of the HFL Playoffs. In memory of their late
head coach, Earl Handley, The Disciples earned National Defensive Honors and
sent 14 players to the HFL All Star Game. In August, the Disciples Staff took a
group of players to Lincoln University, an HBCU outside of Philadelphia, PA. 8
players have the opportunity to attend, along with 6 other players that have an
opportunity to play football at a professional level.

Inspiring Minds Gives College Scholarships
Inspiring Minds will be locating a giving away over $10,000.00 in scholarship
money at our Annual Community Award Gala. All applications are due January 4,

Cavs
The Cleveland Cavs Girls Junior Dance Clinic will be held on December 5 with the
performance at the game on December 11. All youth females age 6 to 16 that would
like to be a part of this AMAZING experience please contact our Special Events

performing the National Anthem at the Cavs' January 3rd game. All of our
contestants and choreographers from the Dance Competition that will have the
opportunity to dance with Jasmine in her music video include: RaiLynn Hill,
RaiAle Chatmon, Raina Chatmon, Jessica Sanders, LaChon Phillips, Deonte Stubbs,
Daivon Williams, Kiana Cayson and Mia Sizemore. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Warren Kiwanis Club
The Inspiring Minds After School Program received a grant from The Warren
Kiwanis Club which will assist us in serving our youth. We want to thank the
Warren Kiwanis Club for your continuous support. Please go out and support the
Warren Kiwanis Club at their Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning held at
Kent State Trumbull Branch.
The True Meaning of Giving
For our Annual Christmas Gift Giveaway, we are in need of non-perishable food
items, toys and donations. To sponsor a Child is $60.00, a family is $200.00.
Our students will be shopping for the families in need December 6th-10th. The
giveaway and party will be held December 21, 2009.
Inspiring Minds touches youth in Los Angeles, CA
Several Inspiring Minds volunteers will travel to Los Angeles, CA to assist
their founder, Deryck Toles, in facilitating a football camp at Compton High
School. Deryck will be bringing fellow Watkins Alumni, College and NFL football
stars, Celebrities and business owners to Compton to impact the lives of their
youth. After the football camp there will be Teen Summit held where students
will be able to hear life lessons from the athletes and entertainers as well as
ask them questions. Deryck and Inspiring Minds have received support from The
National Alliance of African American Athletes, the Local Army Recruiting
Station, Compton NAACP, Marco's Pizza and PFG Wealth Advisors in their quest to
change lives.
